You’re also under 10 minutes from Great Smoky Mountain National Forest. You’re just a six-mile drive from Ober Gatlinburg Ski Area or forget the drive and take the tram from downtown Gatlinburg.

The location and accessibility are enough to draw guests to Misty Hollow, but that would be shortchanging this incredible mountain property that’s overflowing with amenities that will make your vacation perfect. Best of all, even your pet is welcome!

When you drive up to Misty Hollow you’ll be pleased to discover the flat, paved parking area out front that makes it so convenient to unload your car. Walk through the front door into a large living room loaded with windows. A stacked stone wood-burning fireplace and a comfy couch and loveseat await you. Settle in and watch your flat-screen TV with cable and a Blu-Ray player. Beautiful wood plank floors and a cathedral ceiling make this room a wonderful, welcoming space where you’ll spend many a happy hour.

Walk through the sliding glass doors out onto your large wrap-around deck where you have a beautiful view of the Great Smoky Mountains. This is also where you’ll find your bubbling hot tub. After a day of hiking or golf, this hot tub will be just what your body needs to soothe aching muscles. The deck also has a charcoal/smoker grill and chairs where you can sit and enjoy your morning coffee or an evening cocktail as the listen to the wrens, finches, and maybe a whippoorwill.

If you don’t want to cook while on vacation, you certainly shouldn’t. There are about 60 restaurants in and around Gatlinburg that would love to have you visit. However, if you’d like to cook in your mountain home, Misty Hollow provides a fully equipped kitchen with all the serving ware, appliances, and cookware you need to prepare great meals for your family. Your charcoal grill is perfect for cooking up some burgers or steaks. Everything tastes so wonderful in the mountain air.

Your dining table is just steps from the kitchen for easy serving. Large windows let you gaze out on the forest while you eat.

There is a bedroom and bathroom on each of the three floors at Misty Hollow. On the lower floor, you’ll find a queen-sized bed with its own private bathroom with a shower/tub combination. The lower floor also has a couch, loveseat, and pool table along with a large TV. If your party includes a baby, you’ll find a Pack-n-Play in the lower bedroom. The lower floor is also where you’ll find the Misty Hollow laundry room. No need to drive down to a Laundromat. You can just toss in a load of clothes and get on with your day.

On the main floor, you’ll find the second bedroom; this one featuring a king-sized bed with large windows and plenty of closet storage. There’s also a TV positioned for late night viewing and a bathroom featuring a walk-in shower and vanity with plenty of storage.

Upstairs is the Misty Hollow primary suite and what a peaceful retreat it is. Settle into your luxurious king-sized bed and watch a little TV. Or, simply gaze out through your sliding glass door and large window onto your private deck. What a joy it is to slip out and listen to the birds singing each morning. the room is clean and comfortable, all furniture is made up of wooden, no any strange smell. however it is a little noisy at night on the first floor because the devices including AD and heater are on the first floor.

Great Cabin overall

We had a wonderful stay in the mountains at Misty Hollow. The positives are the cabin is beautiful and spacious. My husband and I stayed with our five adult children (2 of which are in-law children) and granddaughter. We had more than enough room! The cabin had everything we needed including a grill that we used every evening and some of us really enjoyed the hot tub! My granddaughter is in cloth diapers and only 8 weeks old, so she goes through a lot of diapers and the washer and dryer really came in handy. The kids and my husband really enjoyed the pool table in the evenings as well. Loved that the visitors center was at the bottom of the hill, along with parking and the trolley to take us into Gatlinburg. It was just an overall great cabin and place for our family to all come together and enjoy some family time. A few things to keep in mind with this cabin, not they are negatives but you should know. 1) It is located on a road that can be dangerous, I would only recommend experienced drives drive up and down the mountain and you will need 4 wheel drive in the winter months. 2) This cabin is advertised as pet friendly, but there is no where to walk a dog, so I wouldn't recommend if you are bringing your pet with you to the mountains. 3) Parking is tight for such a large cabin, we were all coming from different places in TN and NC and had a total of 4 vehicles. We fit them all in the parking area, but it was tricky. 4) There is suppose to be a community pool and the pool pass is in the cabin, but we found no pool. No big deal as we had no plans to swim anyway, too much other stuff to do in the area.
